life or armor?
on most of my weapons i have to +life but i was woundering if the +5 armor works out better in the long run. i mean +30life is just that but does +5 AL make a big enough differance to prevent 30 damage or more before you die, or at least until you are healed. 30 life is gone in 1 hit but the +5 is always there and i cant seem to find much info comparing the two.
sorry if this was covered in another thread, search didnt seem to turn anything up.
humm i just saw the tank quide on the front page. if a mod would be so kinda as to close this thread.
Thank you

+5 armor is better ~90% of the time, with the other ~10% being situations when all the damage you take is armor-ignoring damage (such as degen).
The general rule in GW is armor > HP, ESPECIALLY for warriors.
Go with the +5 amor and never look back.

If it comes to the point where that 30 health matters to you a a warrior, your probably dead anyway. There is alot of degen around though. Be it conditions or hexes.

I mostly pve so for me +5 is the better choice, but i do have a +30 sword and +30 shield as my 4th weapon set. I know when farming FoW there have been a few times where i was being degened but couldn't stop to use heal sig, swapping to that set gave +60hp which saved me a few times.
I think the hp mods are used in PvP especially against spike teams. But like I said i am Pve mostly so I am sure others can elaberate.

Theres mixed opinions. Health+30 is definately more usefull against heavy degen, as armor does not prevent degen. Then again, + armor is usefull against pure damage. So, really, there both quite equal, although I prefer health+ myself.

My opinion is becoming, "The less damage taken, the less health needed". That is to say, if I can take their best and defeat them, a total of 50 health could be enough. Of course this is exagerated but I hope the point is made

I like to go with the +5 Armor, especially since the armor nerf on 7-13 (the day that will live in infamy ), but I like seeing the extra health..
But think about this.. There are no weapons that have a +5 Defense mod on them. Anet has to be telling us something.. ..

the lack of +5armor greens is what has been making me think of it most of all.
but im running a 15^50 ebony fellblade of defense and i have noticed my damage delt go up and my damge taken go down a great deal. i dont think doign physical damage with vamp is worth it in most areas. but i still have my +60life weapon/off hand combo incase i get the heavy degen.
